Seven Bro7hers Brewery has August in the bag

BREWING up a storm is in the nature of the Seven Bro7hers family-run artisan brewery – but not just on the beer front. They’re also pretty nifty at booking in events, and the August calendar is filling up fast over at the Taproom in Salford Quays, where you’ll be pleased to see some of your favourites back.

Combine a Saturday-night out with daubing a canvas and unleashing your inner artist – pint glass in one hand, paintbrush in the other

Kicking off the month is the popular Dead Cat Comedy Club, an evening of award-winning stand-up. The event on Friday 2 August sees three of the UK’s best and most in-demand circuit comedians, hosted by compère Red Redmond. Opening is Danny Deegan, followed by Eddie Fortune, with the headline slot taken by Danny McLoughlin, support to the likes of Sean Lock, Sarah Millican and Micky Flanagan.

The PopUp Painting crew are back on 10 August, when you can combine a Saturday-night out with daubing a canvas and unleashing your inner artist – pint glass in one hand, paintbrush in the other! The class will be inspired by Banksy, and no experience or materials are needed – just book a place and turn up on the evening.

Next day, it’s another Sunday Session in the brewery tap, with a kid- and dog-friendly afternoon featuring a live DJ and street food. On Wednesday 14 August, there’s a date change, as the regular Open Mic Night moves from the usual third Thursday. All performers are welcome to join in and jam, and there’s a free pint of Seven Bro7hers beer for every performer. Rounding off the month is Friday BrewBack, when there’s great food from Wild About Food and live music from Uncle Buck Band, who play all your favourite songs from the 60s to the present day.
