There's a Moose loose aboot this ... apartment block

It’s hard to believe that Liverpool-born, American-inspired breakfast joint Moose is already 15 years old. From humble beginnings, this sticky-pancake-and-perfectly-cooked-eggs-benny empire quickly expanded (like our bellies post-visit) to encompass six venues across Liverpool, Leeds and Manchester. Now a fourth Liverpool site is on its way.

This is a really exciting opportunity to bring our famous menu to a new neighbourhood in the city.

This new 70-seater, 1700 square foot Moose will be located on the ground floor of the Regenda Group’s £21 million Plaza 1821 residential development at Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters. It’s got lovely panoramic views of the historic Princes Dock and will be a massive bonus to residents of the swanky new scheme as well as opening its doors to the general public. Very kind of them.

Moose has long been known as a socially responsible company, encouraging its staff to get involved in fundraising activities and raising thousands for local and global charities. The new partnership will see new training programmes developed between Moose Coffee and The Learning Foundry, a subsidiary of The Regenda Group, 'offering education and employment opportunities to local young people'.

Michael Birkett, Chief Executive of The Regenda Group, said, “As a much-loved independent local brand driven by strong values and ethics, Moose is the ideal commercial partner to join us at Plaza 1821. We’re thrilled that our prestigious new development has attracted such a popular restaurant, and it further supports our commitment to building a thriving dockside community.”

On signing the lease, Nick Van Breemen, Director at Moose Coffee, said, “It’s fantastic to be expanding the Moose Coffee brand to our new home at Plaza 1821 and to be a part of Liverpool Waters. This is a really exciting opportunity to bring our famous menu to a new neighbourhood in the city. We are delighted to launch our educational partnership with The Learning Foundry too, which will offer a programme of on-site accredited training to young people from across Liverpool.”

Liza Marco, Asset Manager at Peel L&P’s Liverpool Waters, commented, “We’re delighted to welcome Moose Coffee to Liverpool Waters. Our Princes Dock neighbourhood is a thriving community with an ever-increasing number of new residents and businesses calling it home. Moose is a fantastic addition to the amenities at Princes Dock, making it one of the best places in Liverpool to live and work.”

While all Moose venues are currently closed due to the pandemic, you can still support this ace indie by buying coffee, maple syrup, tote bags and more from its online webshop

Big brekkies with a gang of mates are something we miss an awful lot right now. We can’t wait to get back out there and get stuck into one of the huge USA-style gut busters. News like this gives us hope that good times are on the horizon, however distant that may feel right now.
