Tickets for the annual Pier Head winter attraction are on sale now

Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival is coming back with a bang this winter, with a host of exciting attractions all covered by Gold Standard health and safety measures to ensure a fabulous COVID-19 safe day out for all the family.

From 13th November, Pier Head will be transformed into a winter wonderland with family-friendly attractions including a covered outdoor ice rink, ice slide, ice-themed rides, funfair, food stalls and Christmas market.

A fantastic festive event that will make for a wonderful family treat at the end of what has been a really traumatic year.

This year, the ice rink will be the biggest-ever, which means there’ll be even more space for skaters to enjoy themselves, whilst social distancing.

Other safety measures include increased hygiene, robust sanitisation systems and staggered start times so less people will be on the ice at any one time. All comply with the Gold Standard for COVID-secure temporary ice rink attractions, which has been created by a consortium of industry experts and incorporates measures that are in line with, or exceed, government guidelines.

Those measures will also apply to other attractions including the UK’s longest ice slide, which starts six metres above the festival site so you can get fabulous views of the iconic Three Graces as you speed down its three-lane 30-metre course.

Families can also enjoy a thrilling Ice Jet ride complete with light and sound show, a funfair with games and rides for adults and children, and a Christmas market featuring pop-up food and drink stalls offering festive treats such as sizzling German bratwurst, crepes, mulled wine and hot chocolate.

Rob Derry, Managing Director of Events at Arena, the Liverpool Christmas Ice Festival attraction operator said: “We’re really excited to welcome the Liverpool Ice Festival back at the Pier Head this winter, with a fantastic festive event that will make for a wonderful family treat at the end of what has been a really traumatic year."

He continues; “The safety of our guests is always paramount, so we’ve taken a host of measures to make the festival COVID-19 secure, and the increased rink size and staggered start times mean skaters will have a better experience than ever.

“Our family packages make for a great value day out, but the strict capacity and limited numbers of our children’s Penguin skate aids means we’re expecting to be really popular so I’d advise anyone planning to visit to get their skates on and book now.”
