Contrast mural festival will see international artists create works across the city

Liverpool’s streets will become a riot of colour this April, as dozens of artists from Liverpool and across the globe come together for a celebration of spray paint and street art.

Running between the 16th-22nd of April, members of the public will be invited to book their place in workshops throughout the course of the festival, put together by Liverpool's street art venue, Zap Graffiti, together with local graffiti artists Beta Rok 75 and Dead One.

A series of daytime, hour-long workshops (for over 21yrs) costing only £1 will allow wannabe street artists to work closely with a professional to learn some techniques and create their own work.

This festival of street art is part of Absolut Vodka’s ongoing platform ‘Create a Better Tomorrow Tonight’ – that champions the power of creativity to change the world.

Liverpool based street artist Beta Rok 75 has created bold and vibrant works on the walls of the city for over sixteen years and aims to bring a wave of positivity to Toxteth's residents with his artwork - a reminder to look 'onwards and upwards'.

After successfully collaborating together on a mural in Toxteth during the brand’s #ANightForChange campaign, Beta Rok 75 has now engaged a team of thirty street artists to produce a series of original murals across the city, bringing a vibrant breath of fresh air to some well known locations including Grafton Street Graffiti Art Wall (Toxteth), Northern Lights at Baltic Triangle and Cropper Street.

With Absolut's support, the Contrast arts festival will attempt to bring people together in the making of a series of communal murals and in the viewing of innovative, forward-thinking street art.
