Popular bar and restaurant to relaunch following Merrion Street closure in March
Popular Leeds city centre venue Bar Soba is moving to a new home on Greek Street and will re-open in July with a huge launch party.
The unit, formerly home to Bem Brazil, is currently undergoing a top-to-toe reinvention, with plans to become one of Leeds’ premier drinking, dining and dancing spots.
The move marks an exciting new chapter for the Bar Soba group, which was established in Glasgow in 1999, and now has three branches in the Scottish city as well as venues in Edinburgh and Derby. Their Merrion Street branch opened in 2015, but closed in March.
Gillian Soutar, Group Marketing Manager, said “We had an amazing three years on Merrion Street and our Greek Street venue will see us remix Bar Soba Leeds to bring our guests an even better drinking, dining and dancing experience”.
The transformation will see the bar decked out in Bar Soba’s ‘signature urban luxe décor’, which will include Geisha-style graffiti painted by talented local artists. An eleven-metre cocktail bar is being installed downstairs which will serve up cutting-edge cocktail creations and the best Asian and continental beers.
The first floor will be home to a 60-cover restaurant, serving food inspired by the streets of Asia. New dishes include Korean popcorn chicken, bang bang belly ribs and buttermilk fried cauliflower katsu curry.
